Springtime Snack Idea - Eggs in a Yummy Nest

Can you believe we are only a few days away from the first day of Spring?!? And Easter is fast approaching! To add a little cheer and interaction to snacktime, check out these adorable Eggs in a Nest featured by Cari over at Time for Play and provide your kiddos with a little relief from your run of the mill animal crackers!

Eggs in a Yummy Nest

SNACK SUPPLIES:

Mini muffin pan

Griddle

Butter

Chow mein noodles

Butterscotch and Chocolate chips

Candy eggs

Gather your kiddos around a table to assist you in making these delicious treats! Start with a mini muffin tin and have a student or two assist you in buttering each section.

Side Note: It will be helpful to have your remaining supplies already dished out and ready to use.

Next, have your students place a small handful of chow mein noodles into each section of the muffin pan.

Then come the butterscotch and chocolate chips (try to make sure your students put a similar amount of each).

Once each section is filled with chow mein noodles and chips, place the pan on a griddle to melt the chips (you're going for mostly melted, not runny). Have your students help you watch to see how long it takes! Then remove the pan from the griddle and allow it to cool for a bit. After cooling, have your students place a candy egg in each 'nest.' Super cute and delicious!!
