Have your students start their puppets by gluing a small piece of cotton ball to the top of the stick for 'hair' and then have them draw on the eyes and mouth with black and red marker, respectively. Friendly reminder, George Washington was not known to smile much!

Next, have your students wrap blue tape around the stick to form a 'suit'.

Then, cut a piece of blue tape long enough to form arms, cut the piece in half length-wise, and center the half piece across the back of the stick, making sure the sticky side is up (be sure to hold on to the remaining half piece). Form hands by sticking two white circles cut from construction paper to the end of each arm.

Complete the puppet by sticking the remaining half of the blue tape across the top of the arms, sticky side down. And, finally, glue on a small triangular doily.
