End of the Year Treat Bags for the Kiddos!

Christian End of the Year Treats for KidsAs I'm sure you're know by now, I {Kayla} teach a preschool class at my church on Wednesday nights. Our last class was last Wednesday night and, while we had special plans for the night that included a hay ride, group games, and a yummy snack, I also wanted to put together something extra special for the kiddos to take home. We have had a blast this year, exploring new stories and activities and, while I hope each of my precious kiddos remembers how much fun this past year has been and how much fun we've had getting to know each other, I also wanted to remind them that God loves them and has a special purpose for them! While I looked on Pinterest and found various ideas, I wasn't quite sold on any particular gift and decided to craft my own! Knowing that I had a drawer full of paper lunch bags and limited time, I decided to print the message directly onto the bag (you can find a handy tutorial here!) instead of creating, printing, and cutting gift tags. Once they were printed, all I had to do was fill them with the treats, fold the top down, and secure it with a colorful ribbon. Easy peasy!

What's in the bag?

  • Small bottle of hand sanitizer. I got the ones with the jelly wraps so the kiddos can hang it on the bag/backpack that they bring to church/school!
  • ABC scripture booklet. I found this amazing booklet over at I Can Teach My Child! Complete with a scripture verse for every letter of the alphabet, the FREE printable is also colorful and fun! **I didn't have the time to cut out all the pages that would have been required to make one for each of my kiddos, so I tweaked the document a bit and printed the scripture cards onto 4"x6" blank index cards, front and back. No cutting needed; all I had to do was punch a hole in the top corner of each card and secure the booklet with a binder ring!
  • A glow bracelet. I picked them up at the Dollar Store; nothing fancy, but my kiddos LOVE them!

And here's the message that went on the outside of the bag;

While on the surface these may seem like random items, my hope is that each of these items will remind my kiddos of God's amazing promises and spur them to "shine bright for Him"!
