Fall Literacy Center - Alphabet Pumpkins

Fall Literacy Preschool Lesson Plan
Photo Source: www.theimaginationtree.com

These alphabet pumpkins from Anna over at The Imagination Tree are super colorful, offer a fun twist on traditional pumpkin decorating, and will provide your preschoolers with lots of great literacy practice! Not to mention, activity set-up is quite minimal; all you'll need is a pumpkin and adhesive foam letters/numbers, and you're set!

Once assembled, try one of the fun games Anna describes at her blog. We love that each promotes important early reading skills...

  • Letter and numeral identification
  • Letter sound identification and making letter sounds
  • Letter and number discrimination
  • Upper and lower case discrimination/matching

For the full post - game suggestions included - be sure to visit The Imagination Tree. {We recently stumbled across Anna's blog and it has become a fast favorite! Make sure you stick around a while and you'll find out why!}
