Science Experiment for Kids and Preschool Lesson Plan

Jenae over at I Can Teach My Child posted this fabulous project today and we thought it was timely! The end of the year can be rather hectic. The kiddos, pining for summer, get wiggly and even your daily schedule can get messy. Engaging experiments like this one - that hold your preschoolers' attention while also allowing you to introduce/review various science concepts - are just the ticket for end-of-the-year survival!

Fireworks in a Jar

The ingredient list is simple - you'll need a mason jar, a shallow pan, a fork, warm water, oil, and food coloring. Not only will your students want you to create 'fireworks' over and over, this is a great time to discuss density, solubility, and even color theory {in easy to understand terms, of course!}.
