Renee of School Sparks, a preschool and kindergarten resource site for parents/teachers, recently created an e-book full of Christmas themed worksheets that would make a great addition to your holiday centers! Featuring cutesy Christmas graphics, with the free worksheets, your kiddos will be able to practice everything from new vocabulary and printing skills to counting and graphing. Here's a look at two of our favorite activities!

Ornament Beginning Letter Sounds

This activity is a great way to review the various Christmas vocabulary words featured throughout the packet. Invite your kiddos to determine the beginning letter sound of each of the items displayed on the 'ornaments' and match it to the appropriate letter ornament. [NOTE: To create a reusable activity, laminate the worksheets and provide students with dry erase markers. Or, cut out and laminate the ornaments, inviting students to match the moveable pieces.]

Christmas Bar Graph

Graphing is such a great way to integrate multiple skills - visual discrimination, counting, numeral recognition, making comparisons, collecting/organizing/analyzing data, and the list could go on! Another great thing about this activity is that the entire exercise is confined to one printable - students analyze the objects in the box at the top, record their findings on the graph, and use the graph to answer the questions at bottom of the worksheet.

These are just two of the great worksheets Renee has created for the Christmas season. Be sure to visit School Sparks for the e-book download!
