The Versatile Blogger Award

Thank you to Desiree of Kinders on the Block for nominating Kindergarten Lesson Plans for The Versatile Blogger Award! This is our first to date and we greatly appreciate the recognition. I am constantly astounded by the amazing sense of community created online by the various creative/talented educators and professionals in the early education field, and feel truly honored to be a part of it!

The Versatile Blogger Award

Here are the award rules...

  1. Thank the person that nominated you with a link back to them.
  2. Tell 7 things about yourself.
  3. Pass this award on to 15 newly discovered blogs and let them know that they've received an award!

I can already put a check mark next to #1, so it's on to #2... 7 Things About Me...

  1. I'm slightly OCD, but apparently only where colored candies are concerned. I have to eat Skittles, M&Ms, and other colored candies in rainbow order. If I'm in a place where I can't properly divide them into colors (i.e. a dark movie theater), I would sooner pass up the chance to eat candy than suffer the psychosis of eating them out of rainbow order. I haven't figured out if my husband finds this adorably endearing or if he secretly thinks I'm stark raving mad...
  2. Speaking of my husband, I married my high school/college sweetheart the semester I graduated from college and have been happily married for 2.5 years.
  3. I am utterly and completely addicted to Pinterest! For those of you who are regular "pinners", you know what it means to waste 3 hours on there and not even realize where the time has gone. For those of you who don't pin - yes, there should be a support group; no, there's not much you can do for a loved one who has fallen under Pinterest's spell (unless said support group is officially founded); and yes, you are missing out!
  4. You might also call me a "blog-aholic". I love trolling around my favorite teacher blogs to see what awesome things they're up to. And, of course, I'm always on the lookout for new blogs as well! I'm not sure if there's a magic number, Desiree, but I've often wondered if my Google Reader will crash one day because of the sheer amount of subscriptions I've managed to collect!
  5. So now that I've made it seem as if the internet is my life... I absolutely love traveling. Whether it's a short weekend trip to a state park, a cruise to the Caribbean, or a trip out of the country - you'll usually find me excited and ready to see new places!
  6. I have a bucket list. Not that I'm expecting to go any time soon, but I always like to set goals and know where I'm going/what I want to accomplish. A few entries include...1) Train and compete in a marathon, 2) Learn to speak Italian, 3) Learn to handle/shoot a pistol at competition levels, 4) Take a mixed martial arts class, and the list goes on and on! This may showcase the total goober in me, but I've always wanted to be like Jack Bauer in the television show "24", so I'm actually working on #3 at the moment! :)
  7. I am a chronic list maker and have a list for EVERYthing. My husband jokes that I need lists just to keep track of my lists! I'm not sure why God designed me this way, but that's the way my brain functions and so lists it will be! (This award process, essentially various lists, was super fun for me!! I know, total goober!)
