Thanks for Lighting Up Our Class!

Christmas Writing Kindergarten Lesson Plan

We love this holiday writing exercise from Christina over at Mrs. Bainbridge's Class. Not only is it a great way to provide your kiddos with writing practice, it's a fun way to build community. Here's how it works...

  1. Download the Christmas light writing template {shown above} provided by Christina and print it onto card stock in assorted colors.
  2. Using a permanent marker, script the name of each person in your class {including yourself} onto one of the Christmas lights.
  3. In a "name exchange", have students draw one of the Christmas lights from a bag - identifying the student named at the top and constructing a sentence and/or drawing a picture of one of the ways their classmate has "lit up" the classroom!

These can be arranged on a bulletin board for all to see or given as a special gift to the student!

We think this is a lovely holiday exercise! Be sure to visit Mrs. Bainbridge's Class for the download!
