Litter Bugs for Earth Day

April Earth Day Recycling Craft for Kids
Photo Source: rachelskindergarten.blogspot.com

We found this adorable Earth Day craft over at Kinder Eggs and Ham. Rachel Degeo, kindergarten teacher and creator of the blog, found the craft over at Enchanted Learning and just knew her kiddos would love it!

Supplies You'll Need

  • Recycled egg cartons {cut in half or thirds}
  • White craft glue
  • Chenille stems
  • Recycled materials - bottle caps, packing peanuts, newspapers/magazines, etc.

As you charge your kiddos with the task of taking care of the Earth, provide them with a "litter bug" pal to help out! Armed with the egg carton segments, have your kiddos use the chenille stems to create legs and the recycled materials to add eyes, a nose, a mouth, hair, and other unique accents to their bugs. Not only is the litter bug a fun way to remind your student's to keep the school and classroom clean, it's also a great way to show them that everyday items can be upcycled into something fun (and useful!).

Be sure to visit Kinder Eggs and Ham, as well as Enchanted Learning, for lots of other great ideas!
