Exciting - Sometimes Messy! - Sculpture Crafts

Sculpture is a great way for your kiddos to explore new art mediums, develop fine motor skills, and discover the fun of independent creation! We searched for several projects that would be perfect for you Easter crafting needs {or that could be adapted to fit the holiday} and here are several of our favorites!

We found this fantastic egg shell sculpture project at Messy Kids. Your kiddos are sure to have a blast smashing, and squeezing, and positioning, and designing their egg shell, glue, and paint creations!

This next great craft comes from Faith Hope Love via Kiboomu. Armed with small terra cotta pots and some floral foam, your kiddos can explore sculpting with natural elements, small glitter Easter eggs, and Easter grass for gorgeous holiday decorations!

Spring Easter Fine Motor Spaghetti Sculpture Craft

For a less traditional Easter sculpture, have your kiddos try this fun, sensory project from Hands On: As We Grow. Mixed with corn syrup in pastel shades {for Easter, of course!}, the slippery cooked spaghetti noodles offer a unique tactile creating experience!

Spring Easter Chenille Stem and Foam Sculpture Craft

We found this last sculpture craft through the Darien Public School Art Department's shared photo stream on Flickr. Made from more traditional sculpture materials - foam blocks, craft paint, chenille stems, plastic buttons, etc. - provide materials in a more traditional Easter color palette, add some foam eggs or other Easter 'embellishments', and this craft is holiday-ready! You might even consider using large foam eggs instead of blocks for the base...

One thing these projects have in common ~ they will invite your child(ren) students to use their imaginations to explore, build, and create!
