"Gratitude Turkey" Thanksgiving Craftivity for Kids!

A 'gratitude turkey' is not a new idea, but we thought that this cute craftivity put together by Linda (and her kiddos) over at Little Family Fun was especially well put together! The three-dimensional turkey body is super cute and we love the vibrant feathers! Along with being well put together, this craft is also pretty simple and provides an opportunity for students to count their blessings.

Creating the Turkey

Start with the turkey body. You can get the three-dimensional look by stuffing the brown paper bag with recycled newspaper and shaping it into a 'turkey body' using a stapler. Glue the body to a piece of construction paper or card stock and add construction paper details - e.g. hat, eyes, beak, wattle, and legs.

Next, cut feathers from construction paper in assorted colors.

Before attaching the feathers to the turkey, have your kiddos use a black marker to write a blessing/something they're thankful for on each feather!
