Fall Puppy Chow Graphing Activity (with FREE Printables!)

Looking for a last minute fall/Halloween activity? Here's an easy graphing math station (with yummy treats!) that doesn't take much prep time! (That is, it doesn't take much prep time if you're not stopping to take pictures every two seconds!)

Making the Puppy Chow

The most time consuming part will be making the different flavors of puppy chow, but once you get into a rhythm, it's actually pretty simple!

Chocolate Peanut Butter Puppy Chow

{Recipe}:

  • 1 (12 oz.) box Rice Chex
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 bag festive M&M candies {optional}
  • 1 1/2 - 2 cups powdered sugar

{Instructions}:

Pour the cereal into a large mixing bowl.

Add the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter to a double boiler or microwave safe container and heat until melted and creamy. [NOTE: The butter tends to melt better if it's cut into smaller pieces.]

Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal and stir until the cereal pieces are coated. [NOTE: Optional, add a bag of festive M&M candies and toss the cereal again.]

Add a cup of powdered sugar to the bottom of a paper grocery bag, pour the chocolate covered cereal mixture into the bag, then top with the remaining powdered sugar.

Cinch the top of the bag and shake until the cereal is coated with powdered sugar.

Pumpkin Puppy Chow

{Recipe}:

  • 1 (12 oz.) box Rice Chex
  • 1 bag pumpkin spice Hershey's kisses candy
  • 1 1/2 - 2 cups powdered sugar

{Instructions}:

Pour the cereal into a large mixing bowl.

Unwrap the Hershey's kisses candies and add to a double boiler or microwave safe container and heat until melted and creamy.

Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal and stir until the cereal pieces are coated.

Add a cup of powdered sugar to the bottom of a paper grocery bag, pour the chocolate covered cereal mixture into the bag, then top with the remaining powdered sugar. Cinch the top of the bag and shake until the cereal is coated with powdered sugar.

Candy Corn Puppy Chow

{Recipe}:

  • 1 (12 oz.) box Rice Chex
  • 1 bag candy corn snack size Hershey's bars
  • 1 cup candy corn {optional}
  • 1 1/2 - 2 cups powdered sugar

{Instructions}:

Pour the cereal and candy corn {optional} into a large mixing bowl.

Unwrap the Hershey's bars and add to a double boiler or microwave safe container and heat until melted and creamy.
