Abby over at The Inspired Apple featured two really cute Valentine's Day themed center activities based on finds from the dollar store. If you're looking for a way to incorporate a little Valentine's Day magic into your class, you definitely need to check them out!

Numbers Activity with Be Mine Boxes

With colorful beads, a few heart-shaped boxes from the dollar store and copies of the free printable worksheet, you'll have everything you need to set up a Valentine's Day number center (shown above)!

Write numbers 1 through 10 on the heart-shaped boxes for students to match to the designated box on the worksheet. Then they can dump out the colorful beads, count how many they have and write the number in the heart in the center of the box. In the four boxes around the heart, have students represent the number they found in 4 different ways. In the example they used base 10, tallies, written out and an addition problem (a subtraction problem would work too), but the student can choose any representation they wish.

"Sealed with a Kiss" Beginning Blends Activity

How cute is the "Sealed with a Kiss" title for Valentine's Day?!? With this literacy center activity, students will have a chance to match the provided beginning blends with their corresponding ryhmes. And the best part? Abby has provided the center for you for free, complete with printables and instructions!
