Spring Silhouettes Bulletin Board Idea

Spring Silhouettes Bulletin Board Idea

Last year we featured several of Michelle Brinn's fabulous Halloween bulletin board ideas and were super excited when she sent us a photo of her spring design! With spring comes sunshine, and with sunshine comes shadows - which makes this spring silhouettes idea the perfect fit. We just love the contrast of the dark shapes on the vibrant spring colored background!

Spring Silhouettes

  • Background: Cover the top half of the board with light blue bulletin board paper and the bottom half with green bulletin board paper.
  • Title: None needed.
  • Border: The original design features colorful paper butterfly cutouts! If you have a personal cutting machine or a die cut machine re-creating the border is much more manageable. While you can certainly spend the time printing and cutting or tracing and cutting, if you don't have the time to spare, simply use a complimentary colored/patterned bulletin board trimmer.
  • Decoration: 1) The Silhouettes. Freehand spring shapes/figures - trees filled with leaves, children playing, etc. - or find clip art images to enlarge and trace onto black bulletin board paper. Cut out each shape/figure and arrange on the bulletin board. 2) The Fence. Use a personal cutting/die cut machine to create the fence cutout or simply use a fence bulletin board border purchased from your favorite teacher supply store. 3) The Flowers. Purchase silk flowers from your local craft store and attach to the board for a three-dimensional look or create flower cutouts from craft paper in assorted colors.
