"What's Heaviest?" - Science Experiment

Science Experiment Preschool Lesson Plan

We found this great science experiment from Science Sparks through Jamie over at Hands On: As We Grow. Using recycled plastic Easter eggs and various collected items, your kiddos can explore the concept of weight, as well as practice making comparisons.

Considerations for this experiment...

  • Use eggs of different colors or label same color eggs with a unique identifying mark {i.e. a number, a letter, a shape, etc.} so that your kiddos can easily record their observations/comparisons.
  • Be sure to choose distinctive materials for the eggs so that your students can easily compare their weight.
  • Add a sound and prediction component by keeping the egg "stuffing" a secret and inviting students to make an educated guess as to what's inside each sample.
