Here's a great way to help your kiddos strengthen letter recognition - have them create 'letter pathways'! We found this idea at Tons of Fun and thought it was too fun not to pass along...

Simply provide students with a sheet of computer paper printed with various upper and lower case letters and a do-a-dot marker {or stickers, etc.}, inviting them to find a specific focus letter and create a pathway, connecting all the upper and lower case forms of the letter from the top left to the bottom right of the worksheet. Since the letters are all 'connected' {i.e. beside or below the previous letter} and create a 'pathway', this works fantastic for younger learners since they won't lose their place as easily. They'll most certainly have a blast 'following the trail'!

[EXTENSION: Once your preschoolers are familiar with this activity, consider extending this concept by hiding the focus letter randomly throughout the worksheet - making it more of a letter 'search' than a letter 'pathway'.]

Jodie offers letter pathway worksheets, free for download, for each letter of the alphabet at her blog. Be sure to head on over for this fantastic resource!!
