We found this fun "Candyland-esque" Stars & Stripes Forever file folder game at the blog, Mind Games, and thought it would make a grand addition to your home/classroom July 4th celebration!

Supplies You'll Need

  • File folder
  • Large recycled bottle cap
  • Markers
  • White crayon
  • Small craft cube/block
  • Red, white, and blue acrylic paint
  • Small craft stars

While the original game displays "stars" and "stripes" {very appropriate in lieu of its name!}, you might also consider using other patriotic objects as well - fireworks, rockets, sparklers, flags, etc. You might even go as far as to print actual clip art images and paste them onto the file folder, then create your own {larger} die from paper using this blank dice template from SparkleBox and the chosen images. No matter how you decide to create it, your kiddos are certain to have a great time playing it! Be sure to head on over to Mind Games for more pictures and game directions!
