Set up six {clear} containers in a circle. Fill alternating containers {three in total} three-quarters full with water. [NOTE: It might to fun to add in a lesson on measuring, labeling each container like the ones below and inviting your students to 'be precise' when mixing.]

Add red, yellow, and blue food coloring or liquid watercolor paints to the water in the cup, one color for each prepared container. Then have fun mixing neighboring colors, pouring one-fourth of the colored liquid from each cup into the empty container. At they end, you'll have all six colors of the rainbow and each cup will be half full of liquid.
