Fall and Thanksgiving Literacy Game Preschool Printable

Vanessa over at Pre-K Pages created this cute turkey literacy game that will make a great addition to your literacy center this Thanksgiving! Simply head over to her website, print the game board {and laminate it so that it stands up to the wear and tear!}, and label 26 clothespins with lower case letters using a permanent marker. To complete the activity, students must match the lower case letter clothespins to the matching upper case letter on the game mat!

For some extra holiday fun, make it a competition! Provide students with a homemade die with the following sides...

  • 1 clothespin
  • 2 clothespins
  • 3 clothespins
  • 4 clothespins
  • A turkey
  • A pumpkin

Students take turns rolling the die and play the game accordingly. If they land on a clothespin space, they simply pull from their bag the same number of clothespins displayed and clip them to the proper spot on their mat. If they roll a turkey or a pumpkin, they must take a clothespin off their mat and place it back in the bag. The first student to fill their entire mat, wins!

[NOTE: You could also create your own game mat for students to practice numbers, shapes, etc.]

Be sure to head on over to Pre-K Pages for this and other great holiday printables!
