The blogging world is truly amazing. We've been having so much fun tooling around our favorite teacher blogs to check out what they've been up to this holiday season. Gingerbread men, reindeer, and the Grinch, oh my! Yesterday we stumbled upon Mrs. Williamson's blog, Welcome to Room 36, and had to share their gingerbread man activities!

Gingerbread Story Mapping

Read your favorite version of the Gingerbread Man and help your early readers identify the various story elements - title, characters, setting, problems, solutions, and theme. We've seen various story map anchor charts floating around Pinterest/the web - Mrs. Williamson's is super cute and offers a fabulous way to organize and display the information gleaned from your class discussion of the book.

Gingerbread Comparisons

As a class, read various versions of the Gingerbread Man, then compare and contrast several of the elements in the story, adding to the chart as you go along. This is a great way to review story elements, strengthen listening skills, and assess comprehension.

As always these are just a few of the activities over at Mrs. Williamson's blog, so be sure to visit for the full post!
