Teacher appreciation week will soon be upon us and, if you are looking to show your thanks with a colorful display, we've been collecting fun, vibrant, and unique bulletin boards to share!

This adorable melon themed board is from Hadya Rabie over at Izzyshare and, while it was not originally created for teacher appreciation week, we think it could certainly be tweaked and used for that very purpose!

You Are One in a 'Melon'!

  • Background: Natural butcher paper or brown bulletin board paper.
  • Title: "__________ [Mrs. Nelson, etc.], You Are One in a Melon!"
  • Border: Complimentary solid color or seasonal bulletin board border.
  • Decoration: Using construction paper in vibrant pinks and greens, create a melon patch! Start by creating the vine; cutting thin, swirled strips of bright green construction paper and piecing them together to create a single garden vine. Of course, you might also use a piece of green background paper in order to create one long, interconnected vine cutout. Add large leaf shapes, created from the same color construction paper or background paper, along the vine. [NOTE: You might consider attaching one side of each leaf cutout to the board and folding/arranging the rest of it to create a three-dimensional effect.]  Next, create the fruit - both the whole melons as well as the slices that will serve as placards for student names. Cut large ovals from green construction paper, using a green marker to add detailing, in order to create full melon cutouts. Space these out around the board/along the vine. To create the melon slices, cut medium-sized half circles from pink and hot pink construction paper, mounting the shapes onto green construction paper and, once more, cutting around the edge to create a border along the curved part of the shape. Use black marker to draw seeds and print student names on the newly created cutouts. Arrange these along the vine as well.
