Welcome Spring! - Seasonal Bulletin Board Idea

Spring and Easter Bulletin Board Idea

Check out this gorgeous spring bulletin board created by Sarah Rettew! The pastel colors are perfect for the season, the patterned scrapbook papers/ribbons create lots of visual interest, and the painted cherry blossom is simply beautiful! While this design is probably a bit more time consuming, you can't argue with the results!

Welcome Spring!

  • Background: Light blue bulletin board paper.
  • Title: "Welcome Spring!" - We love how Sarah cut the letters from patterned scrapbook paper that mimics the other elements!
  • Border: Cloud themed trimmer.
  • Decoration: 1) The Cherry Blossom. Freehand or enlarge and trace a tree trunk and branches on one side of the bulletin board. Use brown craft paint to color it in. When dry, use a sponge, scrunched tissue paper, or silk foliage with green craft paint to 'stamp' leaves along the branches. Cut small squares of pink art tissue paper, scrunching them around the end of a pencil to create three-dimension "blossoms", and glue them along the branches of the tree. 2) The Grass. Use a paint brush to add "grass" along the bottom of the display. 3) The Flowers. Cut simple stems and leaves from green construction paper. Top them with tissue paper pom pom "flowers" created using this fun tutorial from Martha Stewart! 4) The Easter Eggs. Find an Easter egg template/coloring page online, printing it onto card stock and using it as a template to create egg cutouts from patterned scrapbook paper. Tie colorful ribbon into bows and attach a bow to each egg cutout, then arrange the finished Easter eggs in the cherry blossom tree. [NOTE: The eggs offer a great place to print student names! While the original board features large egg cutouts, in order to fit all of your kiddos, you will most likely need to make your eggs smaller!]
