Spring Is In The Air! - Spring Bulletin Board

Spring Math Bulletin Board Idea

How cute are these spring umbrella glyphs from Jaime at Bright Concepts 4 Teachers?! A colorful and fun way to herald in the new season, we love that Jaime incorporated both math and writing lessons into her display for spring. Not to mention, as her students completed their umbrella glyphs and answered questions about spring, she was able to get to know her kiddos a little bit better!

[NOTE: While you can certainly come up with your own glyph questions and writing prompts, tailoring the board and lessons to fit your learning goals, Jaime actually sells her umbrella glyph unit at her Teachers Pay Teachers store - complete with craft templates and writing sheets! She provides a link through her blog that you might wish to check out.]

Spring Is In The Air!

  • Background: Bright blue bulletin board paper.
  • Title: "Spring Is In The Air!"
  • Border: Cloud themed bulletin board border.
  • Decoration: 1) The Umbrellas. Use your kiddos' glyphs! If you don't have Jaime's template, you can find an umbrella template online, print the shapes onto colored card stock, and have your students decorate the cutouts based on the glyph questions. 2) The Storm Clouds. Fill white and gray plastic grocery bags with tissue paper, attaching the printed side to the door, or simply scrunch white and gray tissue paper to create the rain clouds. Add blue rain drop cutouts beneath the cluster of clouds.
