Searching for fun displays for Read Across America/Dr. Seuss' birthday, this design featured by Arianne over at Ketchen's Kindergarten - with it's contrasting colors and whimsical design - caught our eye and we thought it would make a gorgeous addition to your Seuss decor! Aren't those truffula trees super fun?! Not to mention, adding the kiddos photos to beloved Seuss character cutouts adds a wacky twist!

Dr. Seuss is on the Loose!

  • Background: Black bulletin board paper.
  • Title: "Dr. Seuss is on the Loose in __________ [Kindergarten, Mrs. Nelson's Class, Room 203, etc]!"
  • Border: Colorful patterned trimmer or Dr. Seuss themed bulletin board border.
  • Decoration: 1) The Truffula Trees. Create starburst shapes from construction paper of assorted colors. Roll pieces of orange construction paper lengthwise (hot dog style) and wrap yellow ribbon, a strip of yellow paper, or yellow masking tape around the rolled paper to create the tree trunks. Arrange the trunks at the bottom of the bulletin board, adding a starburst top to each. [NOTE: For a three-dimensional look, add cotton or scrunched tissue paper behind each of the starburst tops to make them 'pop'.] 2) The Seuss Characters. Find and print clip art of Seuss characters. Print photos of your kiddos, cutting out their heads and attaching them to the character bodies. Arrange these cutouts around the bulletin board.
