How cute and simple is this Cat in the Hat door display created by Noelle Gonzalez Agusti?! If your door is not already white, start by covering the door with white bulletin board paper. Next, cut a large piece of the white background paper, drawing the shape of the Cat's quirky top hat and using scissors to cut it out. Create the stripes using strips of red bulletin board paper, then attach the hat to the sides/top of the door frame {as well as the wall above the door}. [NOTE: You could also find a clip art image online to enlarge and trace onto the paper!]

Next, create the face and whiskers. Cut large ovals from white bulletin board paper, outlining the shape and creating the pupils with a black marker. Using black background paper create eyebrows, a nose, a mouth, and whiskers. When all the pieces have been arranged, add any last details to the face with a black marker.

Finally, use red bulletin board paper to create the bow tie! Freehand the shape or find a clip art image online to trace and cut. Attach the cutout to the bottom of the door display.

The result is an adorable door display that will help bring the beloved children's character to life - and, of course, a Seuss-tastic decoration for your classroom birthday celebration for Dr. Seuss/Read Across America!
