Here's another colorful and fun spring display from Facebook fan, Karen Euller Smith! Created as a library display, we love the twist on the traditional saying and think this would make a great classroom display as well - perhaps in the library, as part of a reading program incentive board, etc.
April Showers Bring May...Bookworms!
- Background: Light blue bulletin board paper.
- Title: "April Showers Bring May...Bookworms!" - We just love the different 'fonts' and the fact that the 'o' in 'worm' was formed with an apple cutout complete with worm!
- Border: Solid red wavy trimmer.
- Decoration: Create a large umbrella cutout using white bulletin board paper and craft paint in assorted colors. Add a handle from a long strip of black background paper and create raindrop cutouts from white or light blue card stock, using a black permanent marker to add detailing. Arrange the raindrops around the board. We love how Karen used black permanent marker to add 'action' to the drops - making it look as if some of the water droplets were bouncing off the umbrella!
